Hello. It’s nice to have you here. My new shop: Time of My Lyfe Treasures is open for business. And yes, each item here is one-of-a-kind.

My Story and I’m Sticking to It:

I’ve developed a thirst for making these shadow boxes.

Here’s the book shelf in my studio. A crazy mishmash but I love it. And some of the boxes I’ve made in past years are sitting here.

I started by making one for myself and then I was just hooked! Then I made one for my Mom. And then I started making a few every year. I sign and date them. I’ve given quite a few as gifts.

I think I’ve easily made well over thirty of these boxes in the last few years.

I like to think of the boxes coming out of storage for Christmas; sitting on bookshelves and counters for the Christmas season, bringing smiles to people’s faces…A good conversation starter for sure.

One-of-a-Kind Treasures

It takes hours to put the box together. I’m always on the look out for little things that I could use to tell a story. I take a lot of delight in choosing the papers, creating the vignettes, and doing the finishing touches. My studio is covered in tinsel and teeny trees and sequins and heaven knows what else when I’m in the making mode!

Supplies

Each box is unique. I couldn’t make two the same even if I tried. The miniatures I use are often one of a kind themselves or I have them in very limited numbers. And when they are gone, they are gone.

The box I’ve used for the bigger shadow boxes is no longer available. But that’s okay, it just means I need to get more creative. I think I have four or five of the standard boxes left in storage, so if you are interested in one of those you might want to move sooner than later.

If these boxes look familiar, some of them were listed in an Etsy Shop I had for a couple of years. Now I’m trying my own thing, and I’ve had quite the agonizing time trying to get this shop up and running. It still has it’s kinks.What can I say? I’d rather be making shadow boxes than working on tech issues.

Just a suggestion: if you have a string of battery operated twinkle lights on a timer. the lights add a extra magic when wrapped around the box… picks up the reflection of the sparkles and so on.
