Christmas in a Shadow Box…Can it get any better?

Hello! Welcome to my Blog!  It’s nice to see you here today.

There’s something about a shadow box that really tickles my fancy. I think it’s the idea of a moment being captured in time. It’s something put on hold; a freeze frame.

Imagine lots of little things; miniature things.

It’s all so delightful…

.

Magical.

Remember making dioramas in school? Think that. But think small. Think “Momma I Shrunk the Kids” small. Think “The Littles” small.

It’s as if someone took a collection of teeny tiny dioramas and stacked them.

Now you are getting it.

Now add Christmas into that mix. Yes, Christmas in shadow boxes.

Can it get any better? I’m asking you???

It’s getting crazy busy in our house. Christmas!

I thought it might be nice to take things a little easier over the next couple of weeks. Delight the eyes and sooth the Christmas angst.

I’m not going to ask too  much from you…no heavy reading and no instructions to follow. I’ll be sharing a few of the Christmas Boxes I’ve made.  Each one is personalized for the family I made it for. Each little box tells a story. May these little bits of Christmas Delight boost your Christmas Spirit.

Enjoy!

Today…my first Christmas Shadow Box.

It’s called “Believe”.

In this close up you can see the wires etc on this tree. It lights up. I found it in Target a few years ago. Sadly this year I couldn’t find them anywhere. The battery pack is on the back of the box. https://timeofmylyfe.com

A shadow box tells a story within a story within a story. It can be created in any kind of compartmentalized box. I keep my eyes open at craft shops, garage sales, and antique malls. I’ve even found something suitable in my basement….and as you will see in an upcoming post, amongst my Christmas stuff.

For this shadow box, I used a Configuration Box.

That’s it for today!

See you soon!

P.S. If you are looking at this on your computer, I think there is a place for comments. However, if you’d like to leave a comment and there is no comment box available please go to Facebook, Bloglovin’ or Instagram. I’m there and I’d love to hear from you.

Take care,

Lynn

For the shadow boxes created in these blog posts I use the  Configuration Shadow Box from the Tim Holz Idealogy series. These are sturdy, well made boxes. I highly recommend them.

As for glue? I like E6000 or Goop.

NB. If you follow these links and purchase, I receive a small reimbursement. Thank you for that. Please feel no pressure. You can find these items in many different shops. Lynn
